Six-Week Short Fiction Writing Workshop—Beginners
Stop dreaming and start writing!
In this Beginner’s Short Fiction Writing Workshop, participants will explore their own writing as text, while reading and discussing established works. Exercises completed in and outside of the workshop will focus on molding a creative idea into an actual piece of writing. Goals: loosening up, generating new material, shaping material, and finding your voice.
All sessions will involve discussion, a group exercise, and hands-on experience—this will not be a teacher dominated environment. There may be impromptu discussions on writing styles and techniques, as well as the distribution of unscheduled articles relating to writing, revision, and editing.
Instructor: Jill Rendelstein, MFA Creative Writing. Experienced College Writing
Instructor, American University and George Washington University.
